Unplanned/ Unexpected Cases

  • In case of rapid birth or medical emergency, the Doula may not realistically be able to provide some of the services listed in this contract. In this case, the Doula will provide postpartum support as stated in this contract.
  • If the Client planned for a vaginal delivery and received labor support from the Doula but then ultimately requires a Cesarean section, the Doula may still provide support during the surgery if permitted by the Client’s physician. In such case, a full fee for the Doula will be applicable, and no refund will be given. The retainer fee will not be refunded if the Client or the physician chooses not to have the Doula present for the Cesarean section. 
  • If, for whatever reason, the Client fails to inform the Doula that she is in labor, the Client will not be refunded for any amount paid. Any unpaid balance must also be paid. In such case, the Doula will provide postpartum support as stated in this contract.


Return and Refund Policy

 

  • Refunds are not offered under any circumstances. If the Client cancels the contract within six weeks of the estimated due date, the Client shall pay the Doula a cancelation fee of CAD 200 (two hundred dollars).
  • If the Birth Doula cannot attend the birth for any reason, such as illness or bad weather, she will try to provide a replacement doula to replace her and ensure continued support to the mother. However, the Doula cannot guarantee that a replacement will be found on time. The fees and rates for the Birth Doula will remain unchanged.
